1965 ford mustang fastback. This is an "a" code car which meant it came from the factory with the 289 v8 with 4 barrel carb option. Engine: this engine is a 1965 ford 289 (not original to this vehicle but correct motor) stroked into a 331 stroker. Bored . 30 over and the deck has been leveled. I sent this to a build shop to have it built. It had literally everything done. Scat 331 stroker kit installed, edelbrock aluminum heads, thumper cam (which hits super hard), holley double pumper, and all exterior items such as intake mainfifold, alternator are chrome . Exhaust: chrome long tube headers with flowmaster exhaust with stock style baffles coming out of the rear vallace. Transmission: i believe this is the original transmission to this car. It is a toploader speed with a hurst shifter. All seals etc were replaced on this. I never had a problem just holding the shifter down and never investigated the matter further. Interior: everything redone on the inside except the headliner and fold down seat. Dash and seats look great. Right rear interior quarter panel has a hole in it from where somebody put a speaker in. I believe it is the orignial panel so i never replaced it. The headliner needs to be replaced as it is ripped in the back. All gauges work properly except the speedometer recently went. I checked it out and the cable was melted by the header. Rear fold down seat is missing some parts. Looks good to me so i never bothered with it. Blower was never hooked up for defrost etc as i never drove this car in the rain or questionable weather. Body: this car is painted flat black. All of the exterior chrome is new and i really liked the way it looked with the flat black. Mainly on the trunk lid and roof. One quarter panel looks like it was reparied around the wheel well. I am including two nos reproduction quarter panels that i found in a barn. Also including the original hood. This has a fiberglass shelby hood with steel frame. New floor pans on this. Underside looks clean. Suspension: new rear leaf springs, shackles, and shocks. New front coils, and shocks. All suspension is factory original spec. Rear: factory 8 inch rear. Other new parts: new gas tank, new fuel lines front to back, new brakes all the way around, new brank lines front to back, new resevoir, new american racing 17 inch wheels with performance tires (approx 500 miles on wheels and tires), new grill , new gas cap, new front and rear valance.

The mustang had been in storage since the early 1970's. Although the car was in very good condition, it was dis-assembled in preparation for paint. I don't knowhow long it was in this condition. It still had bias tires, which i still have, on the original styled steel rims. When i got the car home, i found that it was in excellent condition. I did replace some parts like the carpet, tires, and some of the small chrome pieces. The car started right up but needed the original carb rebuilt. Ireplaced the gas tank and it has been a great runner ever since. The car was painted shortly after i got it andhad no rust. I did have the right rear quarter replaced at that time with one off a doner car. The quarter hadbeen damaged at some point and the body man felt that replacing it was the best option. It was painted in itsoriginal prairie bronze. In the years since i have replaced the rims with a wider version although i have theoriginals as well. Last year i replaced the door panels because the handle part on the drivers side was slightlyfrayed. I have the originals. I recently had the carb rebuilt again. The car had 29,000 miles on it when ipurchased it and has 31,423. I believe this mileage to be original to the car but have nothing to document this. The seat covers and headliner are original. I replaced the valve covers with aftermarket gold ones because theoriginal owner had painted the originals blue. I will include theoriginals as well as any other parts i have with the sale of this car. The car is missing a piece of trim thatgoes around the back seat on the passenger side but other than that, i believe everything is all there. This car came with the original gt package with the fog lights, duel exhaust, and other gt options. It has powersteering and disc brakes in the front. It has the gauge package but the clock is not working. It has the fold downrear seat. Basically it has every option that was offered with an a code fastback in 1965. Everything is originalon this car and it runs fantastic. Rarely does something this original and in this kind of condition become available.

It is listed in the official k code registry. In the fall of 1964, i was 18 years old and i purchased my first new car from gene hamon ford dealership intexas city, texas. I special ordered the 289 high performance model with 4 speed transmission. I became the proudowner of the only k code, hipo mustang in galveston county. There are so many memories wrapped up in my car, it isone of the hardest decisions i have ever made to now offer it for sale. I was 18 years old when i bought it and nowi am close to my 70th birthday. Of all the million plus mustangs produced during the first generation 1965-67,less than 1% were the high performance model. It came with the special 289/271 horse, 4 barrel carb, solid lifterengine. This the the engine carroll shelby used in creating the first racing shelby mustangs and the cobras. When iordered it, in addition to the high performance engine, in 1965 it only came with a 4 speed transmission, thefamous 9 inch ford rear end, mine has the 3. 89:1 gear ratio. It only came with a radio and heater. That was all i needed. This car has no rust whatsoever. I went through a long slow process of restoration which was completed in 2009. Since that time, it only gets out of the garage for an occasional car show or mustang club events. I have won myclass numerous times in judged shows. The car is painted in its original color, which is also a very rare phoenician yellow as it came from factory, iinstalled tri-y headers, a hurst 4 speed shifter and added the new rims within the last 2 years, other than that, she is a stock k code. I know what my car is, i know what it's value is in the collector car market. I only know of 2 other original 65 mustang owners and neither one has a kcode. Air Conditioning

Theylook awesome, deliver a ton of performance, and, well, it's hard not to fall in love at first sight. This is onebad pony!!! At a car show, cruise and on the road….. This is the car that makes peoples shoulders drop, heads turn, andsigh…. In admiration & longing. The car that takes peoples breath away. It is truly rolling artwork! Bright rangoon red in all the right places! This is the original factory color as denoted by the code ‘j’ onthe door tag. The sheet metal is clean and straight, gaps are good. This is one vintage mustang that trulydelivers on its looks. The paint has a great shine, nearly flawless. Once fully detailed and ‘clay bar’d’, iadded ceramic pro nano coating. The chrome is exceptional, too, including both bumpers and all the stainlesstrim, much of which has been replaced. The white interior is factory original with a few modern touches, matching what it says on the door tag, offeringwhite bucket seats with console and a fold-down rear seat. The dash has been upgrade with new autometer phantomgauges sitting in a classy brushed aluminum bezels, joined by auxiliary gauges, tachometer and more!. The originalam radio is gone, replaced by an a new am/fm bluetooth head unit w/auxilliary cord from retro (model 2c with chromeface) along with a scott drake billet antenna, polk audio mm651 6. 5" front speakers, new dash speaker, kenwood -300w class d bridgeable multichannel mosfet amplifier. There are also fresh door panels, new carpets, and acorrect plaid trunk mat along with a full size spare. The engine is a 302 cubic inch v8, and while the vin calls for an c-code 289, most will ever know the difference. Upgrades are pretty extensive thanks to the booming 5. 0 aftermarket, and the list includes edelbrock aluminumheads, ceramic headers, a polished edelbrock performer rpm aluminum intake and demon 4-barrel carb, and anpertronix flame thrower distributor, igniter iii ignition system with a billet distributor. A few chrome bits dressthings up the engine compartment like cobra aluminum air cleaner & valve covers and the engine looks pretty good inthe satin black engine bay. Shifting gears through this upgraded c-4 transmission is firm and responsive. A bigaluminum radiator with a spal automotive 16" 1298 cgm electric fan really helps keep the car cool on those hotsummer days without effort. A export brace and monte carlo bar make a noticeable difference in the way it handles. No oil drips of any kind!!! To top it all off, this car has never seen rain and has the original set of floor boards!!!! Controlling this classic is easy via the tilt column with billet steering wheel and the pro motorsports frontsuspension with tubular control arms, and a flaming river rack & pinion steering set up. Also easy witha set of stoptech powerslot one front disc brakes (calipers & rotors), hawk performance brake pads, scott drakepbc-a1power brake conversion kit.
